2022NQ celebrates it’s first birthday this weekend with a series of events demonstrating it’s versatility as an events space. There is an Ex:ample Hip Hop exhibition showcasing the most memorable moments of b-boy culture in Manchester which launched on Thursday night and runs through until Saturday 27th April. Tonight from 6pm there will be a screening of two fantastic music documentaries; LCD Soundsystem’s final live performance film ‘Shut Up & Play The Hits‘ and ‘Iceland: Beyond Sigur Ros‘.
On Saturday afternoon the Manchester Print Fair returns for a third time to 2022NQ and will feature the work of over 20 regional artists, designers and crafters. Attendees will be able to buy handmade prints and there will be a print screening workshop. Finally, on Saturday night there will be a massive party featuring renowned DJ’s The Unabombers (masterminds of the Electric Chair clubnight, Electric Elephant Festival and the bar Electrik) playing all night.

Ex:ample Hip Hop Exhibition (Thursday 11th-27th April) – The exhibition focuses on the theme of hip-hop, and will showcase photography from some of the best Ex:ample contributors, including Air Adam, Al Baker, Gary Brown, Jody Hartley and James Mernagh. It captures the nostalgia and atmosphere from some of the best and most memorable moments of b-boy culture in Manchester.
Viewings are Tuesday – Friday 11am – 5pm and Saturday 11am – 3pm. The exhibition continues until Saturday 27th April in the main space at 2022NQ.
Shut Up & Play The Hits (Friday 12th 6pm-12am) – A special double bill film screening of the critically acclaimed film of LCD Sound System’s final live performance, ‘Shut up and Play The Hits’. This is preceded by ‘Iceland: Beyond Sigur Ros’, a film produced by Manchester indie film outfit, Serious Feather.

Manchester Print Fair (Saturday 13th 12-5pm) – The third installation of The Manchester Print Fair features over twenty local and regional artists, designers and crafters including The Modernist Magazine, Catherine Chialton, Josephine Hicks, Lyndsey Green, Lottie, Pencheon, Textbook Studio, Owt Creative, Kate Thornton, Twigs & Apples, Sean Mort and many more…
Original handmade prints will be on sale, as well as live screen printing workshops.
Unabombers DJ Set (Saturday 13th 10pm-2.30am) – Luke and Justin are the masterminds of the legendary Electric Chair club night, Croatia’s Electric Elephant and the publicsocialhousecafebar, Electrik. They will be taking over the decks for an extended session. Buy tickets HERE
