The curtain comes down on their fortnightly events at the Roadhouse tonight with a special set from Ghost Outfit and an extended clubnight which will run until at least 4am. It’s bound to be an emotional greatest hits set so if you any interest in Indie music whatsoever then you’d be a fool to miss it!

Crack in the Road recently featured an Underachievers curated compilation which you can listen to HERE and should get you in the mood for tonight’s festivities.

Here is what Dave & Kirsty who run Underachievers have to say about the final event;

“Part Two of The Big Blowouts. The Last Ever Underachievers. We are joined by very special guests….GHOST OUTFIT.

All good things must come to an end, and we would rather the end be bigger and better than anything that went before it. With that, we are leaving nothing in the tank, as we arrange two epic grand finales to finish.

These parties will be at the alternate times of 10pm til 4am. The Roadhouse will be decked with a poster exhibit of Underachievers through the ages, and there will be some extra visual elements and surprises along the way. There will also be some farewell memorabilia in the form of free CDs and fanzines.

If you have enjoyed Underachievers over the last 5 years, now is your chance to wish a fond farewell in the best way possible, by losing yourself on the dancefloor! Share this event, spread the word, make sure everybody knows that this is your last go.

Tickets are available in advance for these events over on wegottickets – They are priced just £4. It will be £5 on the door on the night.

With that, we would like to say something about our special guest…

How do you pick the last ever band when you have way too many favourites?

We wanted someone that could start the party, and yet blow it to pieces at the same time. The band had to be raucous, energetic, at times brutal. We picked a band we first had play to about five people at Gullivers. They played then, as they do now to much larger crowds, like it’s their last show.

They are confident, assured, experimental, and just supremely talented. We heard an exclusive of their debut album in the SWAYS bunker the other week, and it was a masterpiece (we don’t say this lightly) combining everything we love about bands like Sonic Youth, MBV, Deerhunter, but not mimicking any of these bands either. This band are our favourite two-piece, Ghost Outfit.

Doors at 10. Ghost Outfit – 10.30. Underachievers clubnight follows til 4am.”
