Manchester’s Autumn gig calender is filled to the brim with gems, but undoubtedly These New Puritans show at Gorilla on October 11th is the one I am most excited for. Returning to the city, the London based band are here to showcase their eclectic and experimental audio delights, fresh off the back of their third album “Field of Reeds”, a decidedly different but nonetheless excellent piece that offers melancholic and beautiful neoclassical sounds.
The bands third album features portuguese singer Elisa Rodrigues, whose silky voice slides across half of the album seamlessly and will be a welcome addition to the stage when they play in Manchester next week. Those who still harbour their affections towards previous albums “Beat Pyramid” and “Hidden” needn’t fear, set lists promise a glimpse into the past musical journey of this dynamic trio.
These New Puritans have come a long way since their Manchester debut at Night and Day in 2008, but these post rock perfectionists should settle right into atmospheric confines of Gorilla. Tickets are available at £15 advance HERE.
