A group of photography students from Manchester School of Art are taking the fruits of their learning out into the open world, choosing a public house to exhibit their work.
They’ve named Smithfield Tavern, Blackjack Brewery’s craft ale fueled drinking hole on the edge of the Northern Quarter, and have already set to work on creating the right ambience to showcase the world through the eyes of their lenses.
Planning to transform its basement, the budding snappers are tackling and taming the theme of light in their art, acknowledging its pivotal role in their chosen medium while exploring its interactions with our very humanity.
The event is free to attend from 17-19 May and launches from 6pm on Tuesday 17th.
