Manchester indie-dance legends New Order are setting the ale world in motion with a beer due to launch on Sunday 28 August at Sawyer’s Arms in Deansgate.
Brewed by the Burnley-based brewery Moorhouse’s, who in 2015 celebrated their 150th year, the beer weighs in at 4.2% abv and takes its name from the eponymous track on the band’s 2015 LP, Music Complete.
Following the launch event, it’s due to be distributed nationwide and has been described as a “refreshing and clean tasting golden ale with hints of citrus fruit and lychee, all balanced by a subtle bitterness”.
The collaboration picks up on a trend for Manchester cultural groups and alcoholic beverages, following Werkha’s City Shuffle Red Ale with Shindigger last year, Elbow’s 2011 Build A Rocket Boys! via Robinsons Brewery and Now Then magazine‘s collab quencher with Marble in 2014.
