Scandinavian pop is good right now. In fact, as an avid importer of their musical products, we’ve never had it so good. Many of the biggest tracks of the past few years have had some sort of magical Scandinavian input.
One of those hovering at the top of the Scandi-pop greatness list right now is Danish darling MØ, who’s performing at The Ritz on Wednesday 19 October – her first headlining tour date in Manchester.
Best known for her vocal contributions to Major Lazer’s ‘Lean On’ (the most streamed song of all time on Spotify, FYI), she’s now having her own creative and commercial breakthrough thanks to summer anthem, ‘Final Song’. Her punk attitude coupled with her talent for infectious pop makes her an exciting act right now – ‘one to watch’, as some would say.
Her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, is worth a listen, but it’s her new material that’s getting better and better, and definitely worth some audible investment.
MØ plays at Manchester Ritz on Wednesday 19 October, 2016, with support by Nimmo. Tickets for the gig are available here.
