Manchester’s popular radio station Unity will raise a glass this December to six years of broadcasting via 92.8FM.
Catering for all tastes from house to grime, the station has built its reputation on solid selections and now broadcasts online to ears outside Greater Manchester’s bounds. With a DJ roster including Haçienda and Space Ibiza headliner Carl Cox, Unity is a base for names both big and growing, also acting as a springboard for homegrown talents like Jamal H, Francis Adams or Manchester MIDI school graduate Kennedy Taylor.
For the past decade, Unity has also become renowned for its vital work with the area’s young people, taking practical steps to engage the city’s diverse youth with music production in its many forms. The station works with Manchester City Council to provide the mechanisms for positive social change by building self-esteem and new skills.
