January may seem like the weary backwater of gigging’s afterthought, but keen gig-goers are already ahead of the game. We’ve picked out a handful of shows already drinking in the last chance saloon, whose doors will slam shut unless you act fast and get your tickets now.
Tempestuous hellraisers Evil Scarecrow have summoned up a storm at the box office with their seismic Hurricanado tour. The Manchester leg at The Ruby Lounge sees the band once again putting Slipknot’s wardrobe to shame.
Ticket buyers have been singing the praises of St Paul and the Broken Bones, who once again leave their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama in search of entertaining audiences worldwide. The band’s Jools Holland performance (below) is a perfect example of their heart-string-tugging prowess.
Cloud Nothings have been gelling their college rock brand of indie back home in Cleveland, Ohio with new lead guitarist Chris Brown, finely coiffing a fifth album in the shape of Life Without Sound. But if you’d like to join them at Deaf Institute you may have to ruffle some feathers to fly to the front of the queue.
