The Reboot Project’s mission statement is based on a fairly simple concept. Celebrating funky, soulful music since 1999, they aim to “bring back cool things that people may have forgotten”, “rebooting” them in the process for fresh and enthusiastic new audiences. If you’ve missed Reboot Socials in the past, the funky club night makes an appearance every now and then, always as forerunner to a Reboot Festival in August. Working with an eclectic roster of local and national DJs, producers and labels Beatphreak, Shadeleaf Music and Dig Deep Music, Project Reboot delivers the quintessential DJ club night.

Details have now been announced for the latest instalment hosted at the Night & Day Café on March 3rd, where you’ll be treated to San Eco, Simba, SNO, Paul Thornton, Shaun ‘Funkyginger’ Foran and Danny Lees. Expect the very best of club classics, house, soul, disco, funk and jazz until 4am, all with entry at just £3.

San Eco is a collaborative project piece by Morris Cowan and Tom Edney “blending catchy pop-hooks with ethereal soundscape production“. The pair met after eavesdropping on and admiring eachothers’ eclectic and melodic material whilst sharing a studio space, and will soon be releasing their debut album. Also on the bill is budding DJ, producer and master of many styles, Simba, who has already made a name for himself in the North West’s scene, and further afield in Europe.

The diversity and depth of SNO’s record collection has already cemented her presence on the Manchester DJ scene. Growing up on the steady diet of her uncle’s jazz, funk, soul, afrobeat and disco collection, her eclectic tastes come together in one groovy package. SNO hosts her own show on Reform Radio every fourth Tuesday of the month, and spins every third Sunday of the month at The Live Room.

DJ, radio presenter and self confessed vinyl junkie, Paul Thornton is your old school house DJ. Hauling crates of black wax from gig to gig, Paul’s love of music has turned full circle to the roots of soul, funk, jazz, disco and boogie tracks that either influenced or were sampled on his favourite records. He’ll also be joined by fellow crate digger Shaun ‘Funkyginger’ Foran, in possession of a passion for all things funk and soul.

Manchester-born producer Danny Lees will be supporting his latest single ‘Crazy’ (ft Kyler Niko) with a spin at Reboot. Danny cites his influences as producers such as MK, Grant Nelson and K Klass, which along with shades of UK garage, early American house and R&B have given Lees an originality allowing him to stand out from the crowd.

The Reboot Social takes place on Saturday 4th March at the Night & Day Café. Last remaining tickets are available here.
