In case you missed it, alt-rock heroes The Afghan Whigs have just released a (provocative) video to accompany Oriole, a second single from their forthcoming LP ‘In Spades‘, released 8th May. Their first album since 2014’s ‘Do To The Beast’ and the eighth of their prolific career. Details of the new album have been unveiled with dates of a European tour stopping off in Manchester next month.

Hailing from Ohio, the band formed back in 1986, fronted by singer and guitarist Greg Dulli. New single Oriole comes following from Demon In Profile, a first taster for what’s to come on the album, written and produced by Dulli himself. The Cincinnati rockers are supporting the album with a new European tour, kicking off at The Ritz on Friday 26th May.

Supporting him in Manchester will be Mercury Prize-nominated Ed Harcourt following on from his success with 2016’s rave-reviewed Furnaces.

The Afghan Whigs perform at The O2 Ritz on Friday 26th May, 2017. Tickets are available here.
