Due to “phenomenal demand”, The War On Drugs have added a second date at the O2 Apollo this Autumn. The indie rockers (led by Adam Granduciel) have recently released ‘Thinking Of You‘, a limited edition Record Store Day release, and are now heading out on the road for an extensive tour of the US and Europe.
The Philly outfit have recently teased a snippet of new music on a video posted to their Facebook page, a series of black and white photos showing Granduciel and Co. at work in the studio, accompanied by an electronic soundscape. Their last serious release came back in 2014, when their third album ‘Lost In The Dream‘ opened the band up to mainstream success and universal acclaim.
Founded by frontman Granduciel and Kurt Vile (who later left to focus on his solo career) in 2003, the pair began a musical partnership based on a shared love of Bob Dylan. A debut album in the shape of Wagonwheel Blues came in 2008 bringing with it a cult following that would later turn into wider acclaim.
The War On Drugs perform at the O2 Apollo on Sunday and Monday the 12th and 13th of November, 2017. Tickets are available here.
