Canadian punk-rock band Fucked Up are set to travel all the way from Toronto to bring us a dose of hardcore punk on a short tour of the UK. Often labelled as outlandish, the six-piece outfit will perform tracks from their brand new album ‘Dose your Dreams’ (out October 5th) at Manchester’s very own Ruby Lounge on 20th January.

Fucked Up first formed in 2001, consisting of Damian Abraham, Ben Cook, Jonah Falco, Mike Haliechuk, Sandy Miranda and Josh Zucker. Since then they have released five studio albums, with their second album ‘Chemistry of Human Life’ awarded with the Polaris Musaic Prize in 2008. The sextet experiment with their sound to create musical stories, accompanied by the clattering of heavy guitar solos and aggressive drum play, of course.

While their sound is rather unique, when it comes to performing live, the Ontario outfit are alike any other dedicated group or artists, they throw their everything into their shows. With a genre like hardcore punk, things quickly become rather hot during shows. Lead singer ‘Pink Eyes’ (Damian Abraham) has been known to share this sensation with his fans, often walking into the crowd and sharing sweaty hugs amongst the audience. What’s not to love? Be sure to get your tickets before they sell out!
