As we bring 2018 to a close, we know there are many ways to mark the final countdown. With such an eclectic choice of venues, events and club nights in our city, the question is, where are you going to have the best possible New Year? We’ve cast our eyes across the city to pick out those nights we think might just be a bit special, but wherever you find yourself when the clocks strike 12, have a good one!

Manchester’s co-operative arts and social space Partisan invite you to their NYE special, with music from LOFT, Alex T, Sofie K and more. With a 6am licence, you can keep the party going ’til the early hours.

Ultimate Power NYE @ Albert Hall

Fresh from a Christmas extravaganza, power ballad devotees Ultimate Power return once again, this time taking over the Albert Hall for a NYE special. Impressively labelled as “the best club night in the world”, we’re expecting them to turn things up to 11 as the clock hits 12.

New Years Eve @ The Warehouse Project

The Warehouse Project sees the cream of the UK scene bring in the new year with a bang, also offering the chance to say goodbye to their legendary Store Street venue.

New Year’s Eve at the Movies @ The Bridgewater Hall

Dress to impress at The Bridgewater Hall, where they the Manchester Camerata perform music from some of the greatest movies of all time, including E.T., Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Titanic, West Side Story and James Bond.

Soup Kitchen invite some of Manchester’s finest to select a first team of the best players the North-West has to offer.

New Queers Eve @ Common:

Expect a riotous (and FREE) night on Edge Street as Common host “the tackiest night of the year”, New Queers Eve.

Band On The Wall’s NYE Funk & Soul Party @ Band On The Wall:

Over on Swan Street seven-piece funk outfit The Haggis Horns will be on hand to help kick off 2019 in style with a live extravaganza of funk, soul, hip-hop and afrobeat.

Me Gusta NYE @ Night & Day Cafe:

The Me Gusta transform their spiritual home of Night & Day for a NYE extravaganza, spinning an eclectic cocktail of afrobeat, latin, disco, funk, electronica from all corners of the globe.

New Years Eve @ Eastern Bloc:

It’s the annual New Years party at Eastern Bloc, with a host of guests playing alongside their usual residents. Limited capacity for this one, so grab your ticket early!

Homoelectric @ YES:

Homoelectric will be taking over The Pink Room and The Basement at YES, kicking 2018 in the face and giving 2019 a group hug and spinning disco, boogie, house and other weird bits they’ve got their hands on.

Horse Meat Disco @ Gorilla:

The Horse Meat Disco crew let loose at Gorilla, bringing in 2018 with the the finest D.I.S.C.O. vibrations on offer.

MTV BASE NYE @ The Ritz:

The MTV Base crew take over the Ritz for a night of good music and good vibes from London rapper Yungen and some very special guests.

Bollox @ Deaf Institute:

Deaf Institute will be opening their doors from 11pm, kicking off upstairs a first ever New Years bash from queer club night Bollox, curating “the most savage line up ever to fit in one building in the history of Queerchester”.

Kendal Calling NYE @ Victoria Warehouse

Join local lads Everything Everything along with Tom Grennan, as they headline Kendal Calling’s first ever NYE bash and welcome in 2019 with an all-star line-up of Kendal Calling favourites and many more.

Hidden NYE 2018/19 @ Hidden:

Monday Dec 31 – NYE
Hidden will be opening their doors at 9pm, hosting a number of excellent DJs including Martin Loose-Cuts, Turnpenny, Efenar, Josimar, Sonice, Earl-E-Doors and more!

Ordinary Friends NYE @ White Hotel:

DJ collective Ordinary Friends bring down some of their favourite acts to take over the much-loved White Hotel and see off the year with one massive, messy party.

Hot Grot New Years Eve Party 2018 Extravaganza @ Fuel:

Fuel invite Grotbags and Hot Shorts for a night of music, dancing, karaoke, hi jinx, party games and fantastic prizes.

Heavy On The Haddon @ Dulcimer:
