The Good, The Bad & The Queen is a project with pedigree. A collaboration between Blur and Gorillaz’s Damon Albarn along with The Clash bassist Paul Simonon The Verve’s Simon Tong and last but by no means least, the legendary Tony Allen on drums. The supergroup have just seen off the release of sophomore album ‘Merrie Land’; a collection of neo-nostalgia anthems dissecting Britishness. Visiting Manchester just four dates into an extensive tour of Europe. Tickets are on sale now for £30.
Although ‘The Good, The Bad & The Queen’ was initially debut release by an unnamed alternative rock band in January 2007 by Albarn, with revered producer Danger Mouse behind the mixing desk. Their new record is largely themed around modern life in London, described by Damon Albarn as “a song cycle that’s also a mystery play about London” in an interview with the magazine Mojo.
The Good, The Bad And The Queen perform at The Albert Hall on Tuesday 16th April 2019. Tickets are available here.
