Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a well deserved break. It may be one of the more quieter times of the year, but there’s still plenty to look forward to if you dig deep enough, and we have… Here’s what’s on across the city over the next seven days!

Monday 7th: Remake Remodel @ Soup Kitchen
// We start off with another installment of indie disco Remake Remodel, throwing their first party of the year down in the Soup Kitchen basement.
Tuesday 8th: The Quiz That Fell To Earth @ Night & Day Cafe
// On what would have been his 72nd birthday, Night & Day host a David Bowie-themed quiz, raising money for the Cyril Flint Befrienders Charity. With over 5 million elderly people living on their own and 50% citing television as their main source of company, loneliness is an ever- present problem within our community. Cyril Flint Befrienders are campaigning to end loneliness in the Salford and Greater Manchester areas.
Wednesday 9th: Ella Mai @ The Ritz
// Rising R’n’B starlet Ella Mai has gone from strength to strength since unveiling her critically acclaimed eponymous debut album, now setting off across the world for ‘The Debut Tour’ including a night at The Ritz.
// Cambridge rock five-piece Lonely The Brave play an intimate show at Deaf, back on the live circuit after a change of line-up last year. Over on Swan Street, Band On The Wall host another edition of FREE music showcase Free Vibes.
// London indie rock outfit The Rifles celebrate the 10th anniversary of their classic album ‘The Great Escape’ by performing it in it’s entirety over at Night & Day. Further along Oldham Street, Girl Boss take over the Gullivers Lounge, Ballroom and The Castle Hotel for a day of music from the likes of Joel Gardner, Somewhere in Between, Tasha O’Reilly Music, Leodis, Idle Hours and many more. Culture Clash club night return for an unmissable reggae party at Band On The Wall, takes you through the incredible history of UK Sound Systems!
// Still to follow up their 2015 debut ‘Delicious Rock Noise’ US rock trio Radkey, though 2018 saw them release a string of new singles. Their latest tour sees them drop into Night People this Saturday. Over at the Night & Day, expect live PA’s, visuals and DJ sets with a new club night from BEESWAXX.
Sunday 13th: Ron Pope @ Academy 2
// Melodic indie-popper Ron Pope visits Academy 2 to bring the week to a close, still to follow up his thirteenth album ‘Work’, released 2017.
