Night People can sometimes find itself overlooked in a city with an abundance of venues. For shame, we say. We cast a spotlight on the Princess Street venue to highlight some excellent shows over the coming weeks.

Friday 8th March // Dantevilles

// Local four-piece Dantevilles are riding high on the release of debut eponymous EP, out on Mancunian label Heist or Hit. Possessing a sound “full of soul, melodic guitars and standout duel vocals”, we recently caught up with the band to chat about their music. Read our interview here.

Friday 29th March // Gathering Of Strangers

Since moving to Manchester and meeting at local music college meeting at BIMM, indie five-piece Gathering Of Strangers have built up a strong following with regular shows across the city. Their appearance at Night People comes just a few days on from the release of latest single ‘LADY’. Tickets are just a fiver.

Friday 19th April // Ryan Jarvis

// Ryan Jarvis play their biggest Manchester show to date with an evening at Night People, now regulars on the local festival circuit. Tickets are £7.

Thursday 9th May 2019 // Charly Bliss

// NYC quartet Charly Bliss are back on the road ahead of the release of sophomore LP ‘Young Enough’, out 10th May. Listen to their excellent recent single ‘Chatroom’ below. Tickets are just £9.

Saturday 11th May 2019 // Afghan Sand Gang

// They describe themselves as “an electronic lexicon of stiff, grounded beats and ethereal, ascending fog”, but a quick answer might be ‘Krautdance’. The local trio combine hypnotic drones with post-punk energy. Tickets are £7.

Thursday 30th May // Vistas

// Hailing from Edinburgh, indie-pop trio Vistas combine catchy choruses, hooky guitar lines and rhythmic thunderous basslines, accurately described by Clash magazine as “indie-infused electro-pop that erupts from the traps and only continues to accelerate”. Grab a ticket here for £6.

Friday 31st May // Imperial Wax

// Imperial Wax are now the longest serving (and last line-up) of legendary post-punk outfit The Fall. With new album ‘Gastwerk Saboteurs’ scheduled for release in May 2019, the 11 year veterans Keiron Melling, Dave Spurr and Pete Greenway return once again to a local stage. Tickets are £12.50.

Tickets for all shows are available here.
