Spring is well and truly in the air, and as the Easter weekend approaches we’ve got another week packed full of gigs and cultural events to unwrap. We’re here to offer our picks on what to look out for around Manchester in anticipation of a four-day weekend…

Monday 15th: The Dandelion, The Big Peach, FTD & The Bleachés @ Night People

// We start the week with a QUADRUPLE bill at Night People, spearheaded by Natalie de Silver’s music vehicle The Dandelion, out on a European tour supporting third album ‘Old Habits and New Ways’.

Tuesday 16th: The Good, The Bad & The Queen @ Albert Hall

// The Good, The Bad & The Queen is a project with pedigree. A collaboration between Blur and Gorillaz’s Damon Albarn along with The Clash bassist Paul Simonon The Verve’s Simon Tong and last but by no means least, the legendary Tony Allen on drums. The supergroup have just seen off the release of sophomore album ‘Merrie Land’, and visit Manchester just four dates into an extensive tour of Europe.

Wednesday 17th: Camera + Spill Gold @ Soup Kitchen

// Expect DIY “krautmusic” from Berlin as post-punk five-piece Camera visit, along with support from the dreamy and psychedelic Spill Gold.

Thursday 18th: Wes Anderson Party @ YES

// The Remake Remodel crew host a night of Wes Anderson themed frivolities to bring in the Easter weekend. Dig out your berets, sweat bands, sunglasses and fox ears as there will also be prizes for the best costumes. It’s also worth noting that a more family-friendly version of the event will be held the next day, from 12:30PM.

Friday 19th: Manchester Punk Festival @ Various Venues

// We look to the future of punk with another edition of the annual Manchester Punk Festival, taking over Gorilla, Rebellion, The Bread Shed, Zombie Shack, The Font and many more. Check out their site here for a full line-up!

Saturday 20th: When In Manchester Festival @ Various Venues

// When in Manchester Festival returns to the Northern Quarter to showcase eighteen up-and-coming artists from across the UK, including BLOXX, Husky Loops, Chappaqua Wrestling and many more.

Sunday 21st: Micachu, Coby Sey, Brother May, PK Brako present CURL @ The White Hotel

// Bank holiday is taken care of courtesy of The White Hotel, hosting experimental pop musician Micachu, MC and producer Coby Sey, experimental artist Brother May and rapper PK Brako.

Monday 22nd: Josh Milan @ Band On The Wall

// For those not nursing a hangover, catch Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer Josh Milan, playing live with his full band at Band On The Wall with support from soulful singer-songwriter Angela Johnson.
