The dreary winter months are rolling forwards and I think we can all echo Ann Peeble’s sentiment – I Can’t Stand The Rain. But don’t despair! There is an abundance of live music in store this winter waiting to cure your blues. Here are some of the highlights from our flyer packs this month…

Over at The Whiskey Jar, NQ Jazz will run each Monday as usual, showcasing emerging jazz musicians from the UK and beyond. Thanks to DHP, Ezra Furman will play Albert Hall to mark the release of his most visceral album to date, Twelve Nudes. If you fancy a bit of Madchester nostalgia then you can also get baggy with the Happy Mondays at Manchester Academy on the 21st of November for £35.

Portico Quartet will take to the stage at Gorilla with their immersive blend of ambient, jazz and electronic sounds on the 6th, while everyone’s favourite afrobeat stompers Ezra Collective are due to bring the house down on the 23rd. If trip hop remixes are more your kind of vibe, then be sure to catch Kruder & Dorfmeister at the Albert Hall on the 22nd.

We’re also shining the spotlight on some spectacular looking shows taking place at the Palace Theatre & Opera House this month. If you fancy getting into the Christmas spirit early this year then catch their showing of The Snowman from the 7th-10th of November. Or you get your glitter on and sing along to some disco anthems at Priscilla Queen Of The Desert from the 25th-30th.
