Longstanding promoters/writers/all round legends High Voltage celebrate their 7th Birthday in a few weeks. Here are all the relevant details.

Sunday 4th April – Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

High Voltage 7th Birthday party at Islington Mill, Salford. 5pm – 2am

We’re throwing a big ol’ party to celebrate High Voltage turning 7. That’s SEVEN!

HV started in a halls of residence bar in 2003, launched a fanzine in September 2004 released a debut record in Nov 2004, moved out of halls of residence bar when they renovated it, put on Arctic Monkeys at Night & Day and Mystery Jets at Roadhouse in early 2005, relocated to Music Box in June 05, kept on releasing records and fanzines, put on shows by Simian Mobile Disco, !!! and The Maccabees, took a sabbatical between 2007-2008, and hosted an awesome In The City Showcase in 2009… But forget all that. Let’s look forward to more of the same. But better.

The birthday line-up represents the cities finest emerging talent. From The Heartbreaks soulful indie-pop to Young British Artists murky melodies, the wide range of Manchester’s current scene is on display. Add to that DJ sets from Nine Black Alps and scene leaders Everything Everything, along with an acoustic room featuring Manchester’s more introvert artists, and you have yourself a massive night out.
