A mobile phone app created to benefit music fans, bands and promoters alike was recently named Best Ticketing Company by Music Week. The revolutionising ticketing platform DICE scooped the high-profile industry accolade at April’s Music Week Awards 2016 to further cement its position at the forefront of tout-proof gig promotion.

Since rolling out its plan in 2014, DICE has also gained a deserved gong from The Guardian and Apple Store, featuring among their apps of the year in 2014 and 2015, respectively. The recognition rewards the app’s central concept and ethos of preventing the selling on of popular concert tickets for obscene amounts of cash – an issue that has dogged the industry for years.

Tickets bought on DICE cannot be sold on, but instead fans can add themselves to a Waiting List for sold out shows. Unwanted tickets can then be returned and offered to other fans at face value. All of which is no dice for ticket touts, since it uses mobile phone technology to prevent spiraling prices for popular concerts as well as keep you up-to-date with gigs near you.
