Dot To Dot Festival’s importance on the Manchester music scene will be resonating widely this autumn, as we found some of the cream of this year’s crop when looking ahead in the listings.

Tubthumping indie rockers The Hunna’s Academy 2 sell out is not only a cue for a night of multiple mosh pits, but also a fine example of why it’s best to act quickly to avoid missing out. Fortunately there are still tickets kicking around to catch the prime aural harvests in several other musical fields.

Likened to Springsteen for their euphoric stadium rock riffs, Reading’s hotly tipped quartet Sundara Karma‘s big stage billing at the Ritz is testament to such comparisons, having already brewed a storm in Manchester Cathedral during their rip-roaring #D2DFEST 2016 show. They’re back this Thursday 22 September, so snap up a ticket while you still can.

Fresh from beguiling Ruby Lounge with their urgent West Country alt-rock, Estrons are reuniting with another Dot To Dot success story. Their support act at Gullivers on Thursday 29 September is Manchester’s trio of grunge throwbacks False Advertising, who raucously tore apart the Whiskey Jar venue earlier in the year.

It’ll be three in two days for Dot To Dot graduates, as the following day sees a headlining show for breathy chillwavers Meadowlark at Fallowfield’s premier live venue, Fallow Cafe. They stole the Night & Day stage back at Dot To Dot 2016.

The trend continues into October, as Fews replenish the good vibes from their prime time Aatma slot at Dot To Dot by heading to fellow Stevenson Square sound system Soup Kitchen on Sunday 2 October. Prepare for hairs standing on end and ‘100 Goosebumps’, as evidenced by their infectious guitars in the video below.

And we’ll leave you with another double bill hosted by Gullivers, this time on Tuesday 4 October. Johnny Lloyd returns to the scene of his disheveled jives and bittersweet tales, while support comes from Crimsons – a Manchester band riding the crest of a tidal groove of moodily gothic shoegazing joy in the form of their debut single, ‘I Bring The Rain’.
