If you didn’t already know, the genre blending Alex Vargas will be performing at The Deaf Institute in just under two weeks. The English/Danish soul and pop singer has quickly found a swooning fanbase for a superb singing voice placed on top of electronic beats and versatile productions. Last month saw the release of his debut album Cohere on Copenhagen Records, and new singles Inclosure and Higher Love have already set the bar high for what should be an incredible show.
Vargas was the founder of Vagabond, having moved to London at the age of 17. He quickly made his way through residencies on the legendary Denmark Street to taking Vagabond to festivals T In The Park and Glastonbury. It wouldn’t be long before his efforts turned towards a solo career, which recently took him back to the familiar ground of London for a sold out four-day residency at venues across the city.
A prolific touring artist, he’s a regular on the festival circuit and has quickly picked up a reputation online amassing an impressive amount of streams (a session with DistillerTV last year quickly hit the 1-million mark). His recent EP and taster for his latest album, Giving Up The Ghost, added further credentials to his vocal finesse.
Alex Vargas performs at The Deaf Institute on Wednesday 19th April, last remaining tickets are available here.
