Back in 2002 Tycho (essentially the work of frontman Scott Hansen) started out as a solo pet project for the burgeoning bedroom producer. This year, Hansen and Co. found themselves at the 59th Grammy Awards having been nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album with their fourth studio LP, ‘Epoch‘. Currently on a tour of Europe and the US, the blissful IDM act are appearing in Manchester on Wednesday 7th June at the Albert Hall; a more than fitting venue for their dreamy, nostalgic and euphoric beats.
Musically, Tycho would perhaps sit somewhere between Jon Hopkins and Ulrich Schnauss with perhaps a little Foals thrown in, but they’ve managed to gain a hugely eclectic fanbase from regular Coachella festivalgoers to diehard audiophiles. Their appearance in Manchester offers fans the rare chance to catch their audio/visual spectacle in the flesh.
Tycho perform at the Albert Hall on Wednesday 7th June, 2017. Last tickets are available here.
