The award-winning Manchester Jazz Festival returns at the end of the month, and we’re very excited to be giving away a bundle of prizes to celebrate this year’s event. Bigger and better than ever, the festival hosts 100 gigs across the city over ten days of music, and we’re offering lucky winner the chance to land themselves tickets to one of the festival’s most anticipated events, along with a collection of CDs from this year’s artists, including some special signed copies.

We’ve got a pair of tickets up for grabs to this year’s commissioned work, Cottonopolis by Manchester-based pianist and composer Andy Stamatakis-Brown. The night-long show is an exploration of iconic aspects of Manchester’s colourful, industrial and cultural past, where a twelve-piece ensemble will combine with industrial noise to create the club night atmosphere. To throw a little mystery into the mix, no one is quite sure where this Cottonopolis will be held… yet. However, wherever you’ll end up, you’re recommended to wear “sturdy footwear & warm clothes”…

Along with tickets to the event, we also have a signed CD copies of Fini Bearman‘s third LP ‘Burn The Boat’ and Dutch duo Even Sanne‘s ‘What if’. Catch Bearman at the Salon Perdu on Sunday 6th and Even Sanne on Thursday 3rd.

To go with them, we have a few more treats to add to your record collection including Andy Scott‘s latest record with Group S, ‘Ruby & All Things Purple’. Catch Andy Scott & Co. in the flesh at the Salon Perdu, also hosting Kinkajous‘ on Friday 4th. Our lucky winner will also be given a copy of the nu-jazz outfit’s LP ‘Staring At The Odds’.

Also in our bundle is ‘In On The 2’ by Herefordshire-born guitarist Remi Harris, playing the Midland Hotel on Sunday 6th, and last year’s ‘Quiet Silence’ by Mali Hayes, playing Tuesday 1st. Finally, we have Run Logan Run‘s ‘EP1’, playing Wednesday 2nd.

Sound good to you? To be in with a chance of winning the pair of tickets and seven albums to go with them, simply share one of our posts on Facebook or Twitter. Entry closes on Tuesday 25th July at 12pm, with a winner announced the same day. Good luck!
