The Wild Things @ Aatma // Mon 4th Dec

Possessing a love of Phil Spector and 60s live recordings, The Wild Things hit something special when they pushed their strongest tracks such as ‘I Think You Can Do Better’ and ‘Loaded Gun’ into rock territory. Hailing from London, Sydney Rae White, Cameron White and Rob Kendrick use their shared love of hard rock and sweet harmonies to create “a Lacto-ovarian chanting discourse that takes the veins of electo-reggae-opera and karate chops it into the heart of blues-rock-disco-baroque-more-blues.” What’s not to like?

Victories At Sea @ Night People // Friday 8th December

Having secured themselves a placement as one of Radio X’s “ones-to-watch”, Victories at Sea emerged from the concrete paradise of Birmingham, fusing a “vivacious combination of brutalist electronic hooks, soaring reverberating guitars and dolorous wordplay”. Having recently supported The Slow Readers Club, the band have been supporting their latest EP ‘A Place To Stay’, building on their solid live reputation, and showcasing the band at their most danceable.

Witch Fever @ Bread Shed // Friday 8th December

Witch Fever are an angry and honest, all-girl punk band from Manchester. Formed “through the love of loud music and tits”, their live shows are “laden with hooky riffs“, and the band are boisterous, energetic and, well, just fun. We think Dave Haslam puts it best: “Imagine the Slits meet Black Sabbath partying with Pussy Riot in Kim Gordon’s angry neighbour’s basement. Drunk. Witch Fever are wonderful”.
