Fans are enthused for another visit from smokey shoegazers Cigarettes After Sex, heading back to Manchester this weekend for a third time in just twelve months for their biggest headline show in the city to date. Having thrilled fans at Gorilla back in April following a packed night at the Deaf Institute last year, they play The Ritz this weekend, Sunday 19th.

With just the one studio album to their name, the US quartet quickly collected a following which saw them included in last year’s ‘New Artists You Need To Know‘ by Rolling Stone. The band’s live shows have gone on to live up to the hype of their early EP ‘I.’, and reached new heights this summer with an appearance at Primavera.

Formed in Texas, now based in Brooklyn, their debut eponymous LP brought them to the attention of critics, with glowing comparisons made with The Cocteau Twins and Mazzy Star for their glistening, breathy soundscapes. Now on an expansive European tour, don’t miss a chance to catch them on their biggest outing in Manchester yet.
