Car Seat Headrest have gone from strength to strength since breakthrough album ‘Teens Of Denial’ thrust leader Will Toledo to the forefront of modern guitar indie rock, receiving critical and commercial acclaim in the process. With new album ‘Twin Fantasy’ still fresh on the shelves, the indie troupe recently announced a new tour which sees them returning to Manchester on Wednesday 7th November for an appearance at the Albert Hall, following two stellar shows at Gorilla and The Ritz last year.
Toledo’s stage name comes from the hours spent recording in his car away from prying ears, refining a sound which has since seen him perform across the globe. Songs often revolve around his sharp lyrics, fluctuating from the playful to the sorrowful, backed up with a solid modern indie signature. Currently based in Seattle, the 25-year old Toledo has released a seriously impressive thirteen albums and EPs since 2010, many of which were self-released via his Bandcamp. Indie rock label Matador soon came knocking, overseeing the release of two ‘compilations’ based on his previous material, recorded with a studio band. Most recent offering ‘Twin Fantasy’ is a is a re-recorded, re-imagined version of a 2011 release, and has been met with rave reviews.
