Formed in 2014 through a love of 70s post-punk, 80s new wave and 90s grunge, fierce local trio LIINES are no strangers to the Manchester scene but find more praise heaped upon them with each passing performance. Made up Zoe McVeigh on vocals and guitar, Tamsin Middleton on bass and Leila O’Sullivan on drums, the band have just been announced as lead support for Sleaford Mods‘ 32 date Eton Alive tour in the Spring. Along with this, they’ve unveiled a string of their own shows next summer including an appearance at YES in June.
Most accurately described by The Quietus as “tight-as-you-like snarly pop coated in a holy racket of guitar noise“, the raucous three-piece have recently seen off the release of debut album ‘Stop-Start’, finding a devoted following with a string of hotly-received singles including latest track ‘Cold’. Following some great appearances at Gorilla and Deaf Institute along with support slots for the likes of Slow Readers Club and Hot Snakes across 2018, they’ll be visiting Charles Street venue on 1st June 2019. Don’t miss the latest chance to catch their take on modern alternative rock this June.
LIINES perform at YES on Saturday 1st June 2019. Tickets are available here.
