Monday 1st // Gojira @ The Apollo
// We start the week with Bayonne’s heavy metal outfit Gojira, originally formed as Godzilla in 1996. They’re taking the stage over at the Apollo for a night of high energy and headbanging.
Tuesday 2nd // Converge @ The Ritz
// Keeping with metal, hardcore punk outfit Converge are heading out on their summer tour, visiting Manchester for one of their two UK dates, the other show being at London’s Electric Ballroom.
Wednesday 3rd // The B-52s @ The Apollo
// Eclectic and eccentric American new wave favourites The B-52s visit The Apollo for their last ever UK date on a farewell tour.
Thursday 4th // 30/70 @ Soup Kitchen
// Melbourne soul band 30/70 visit Soup Kitchen to give fans an upbeat and fun night of interesting sound, having dropped new single ‘Tempted’ just last week.
Friday 5th // Carter Tutti @ Band On The Wall (Subliminal Impulse festival)
// Two-day festival Subliminal Impulse arrives this Friday exploring the influence and legacy of electronic music, with shows across the Northern Quarter. Band On The Wall welcome English pair Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti, previously known as Chris & Cosey. With their interesting techniques of putting together experimental electronics with acoustic instrumentation, they are known for being some of the first successful musicians who made the combination work from the electronic underground. Their show will also support the upcoming release of their third and final album ‘Triumvirate’ which is set to be released on the 30th August 2019.
Saturday 6th // The Wombats @ Castlefield Bowl (Sounds From The City festival)
// Inner-city favourite Sounds From The City returns this week, with appearances from likes of Kylie Minogue, The National, Elbow and this Saturday, The Wombats. Formed in 2003 in Liverpool, winning over fans with that naughties upbeat sound we all know and love… Last year the band released their most recent effort in the shape of ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’, supported by plenty of festival appearances and a slot with the Rolling Stones.
Sunday 7th // The Score @ Deaf Institute
// Formed back in 2015, New York City indie cohort The Score are welcomed by Deaf Institute hot on the heels of recent new single release ‘Stay’. The band are only playing in Manchester and London on the UK stint of latest tour, so count yourself lucky!
